If youre not a news photographer photojournalist you may be put off by this tutial purpting to be shooting HD video f a news assignment. But to do that would be a big mistake. While Dan Chung is a photojournalist (and indeed one of the finest around) this tutial does not only deal with assignment shooting. Sure there are hints and tips on assignment shooting but it is so much me than that.
The tips he imparts will prove useful to you no matter what genre of photography you shoot and are equally valid whether you are a seasoned pro enthusiast. Since Dan made the transition from stills to video he is well placed to explain how that transition happens and the perils and pitfalls of shooting HD video with a DSLR.
The tutial is dered very sensibly so that you start with the basics and build from there through to the last chapter where you see Dan pull it all together in actually shooting his assignment.
If you follow everything in this tutial youll be up and running in no time and will have neatly sidestepped all the problems youd otherwise face. Dan deals with all the basic and advanced camera settings recding sound accessies to consider and actually wking in a live environment.
Despite being 2 hours long the tutial is easy to watch and the time passes quickly. Dan presents the infmation in an easy to understand way thats free of tech speak. The best part about the tutial though is not that youll learn loads from it its that it is equal parts educational and inspirational. Youll come away from watching it wanting to take Dans final advice get out and practice!
